Sarah Skuster currently holds the position of principal oboe with the San Diego Symphony and has appeared as a featured soloist with the orchestra on several occasions. Ms. Skuster previously served as interim second oboe with the Dallas Symphony and as second oboe in the Akron Symphony. She has appeared as guest principal oboist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, and the New Jersey Symphony and as a substitute with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. She has performed at the music festivals of Ojai, Music in the Mountains (Grass Valley, CA), Festival Mozaic, Tanglewood, and Aspen and has taught at Interlochen Arts Camp, John Mack Oboe Camp and the San Diego Summer Music Institute.

Ms. Skuster earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music as a student of John Mack and attended Mannes College where she studied with Elaine Douvas.

Ms. Skuster is a Lecturer of Music in oboe at San Diego State University, serves as adjunct oboe instructor at Point Loma Nazarene University and maintains an active private teaching studio of all ages and ability levels.
