Rebekah Daley has held the position of Principal horn of the North Carolina Symphony since 2012. She has enjoyed several opportunities to solo with the orchestra during that time, a highlight being her 2016 performance of Strauss’s Second Horn Concerto. Behind the scenes, Rebekah has been very involved, serving on several committees. Outside of her home orchestra, Rebekah has played guest principal with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonic, and the Eastern Music Festival Orchestra.
Rebekah has always had a great love for chamber music, cultivated through the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra program, continued at the Marlboro Music Festival, and now at the Festival of Winds at Hidden Valley.
As a teacher, Rebekah is particularly interested in supporting young players in finding natural ease in playing. She encourages students to find their own musical intuition through lots of singing, accompanying her students, and discussing how to treat oneself well.
Rebekah lives in Raleigh, NC with her pitbull Honey. When not playing the horn, she fills her days with gardening, sewing, practicing body awareness through yoga, reading and playing the piano.
